Cooperation in Asia

FPSC began working in Asia in 1997 with the help of the Spanish Cooperation in Vietnam with a “study about the country and its cooperation prospects.”  These results were shown in a seminar celebrated at the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, and for the first time, the Vietnamese participated with Spanish NGO’s interested in working in Vietnam.

After 1997 and in agreement with the objectives of the Asia-Pacific Plan and the Directive Plan for Spanish Cooperation, the FPSC executed various projects in India and Vietnam; and in 2007 in Cambodia for the first time, concentrating on the sectors of health, education, institutional support, agriculture and fishing, and the environment for a total of 3,992,662 Euros.

In 2006, the Cooperation for Development Agreement was started by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation in the amount of 1,250,000 Euros. This important four year intervention provides for planning and development of ecotourism in the Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Natural Reserve in the Hoa Binh province with special attention to the local population.

All projects executed by the Foundation in Asia have been co-financed by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation.
